Getting Started
What is ThumbnailMe™?
ThumbnailMe™ is an AI tool that helps you clone or generate viral thumbnails fast — for YouTube, Shorts, Instagram, Skool covers, ads, and banners. You bring a face photo and a reference (or a prompt), the AI does the heavy lifting, and you get a ready-to-upload thumbnail in under a minute.
Do I need to pay to try it?
No upfront payment. Premium starts with a 7-day free trial that gives you full app access + Viral Thumbnails Community access. Your subscription begins on day 8 at the founding member rate.
How do I sign up?
Click “Start 7-Day Free Trial” on our landing page. You can start your trial via Stripe checkout directly in our app (recommended — instant automated access to app + community), or through the Viral Thumbnails Community on Skool (we manually activate your app access within 24 hours after seeing your payment). Both paths give the same 7-day trial and full Premium access.
Do I need a credit card to start?
Yes, a credit card is required to start your 7-day free trial. Two payment options:
- In-app via Stripe (recommended): Trusted, secure payment gateway. Automated app + community access instantly after payment.
- Via the Viral Thumbnails Community on Skool: We add you to the app manually within 24 hours after your payment.
We encourage in-app checkout for the fastest, fully automated experience.

What plans are available?

- VIP Canva Template Pack (20 templates), price locked at founding rate forever.
Yearly Premium and yearly VIP add more on top — see the next question.
What's the difference between monthly and yearly?
Yearly is the better deal — it costs less per month and stacks several bonuses on top of the monthly plan:
- Premium Yearly adds: +500 bonus credits at signup (valid 1 year), 1 new Canva template per week, a 30-min onboarding call, and the founding-rate price lock for life (as long as your subscription stays active).
- VIP Yearly adds: +1000 bonus credits at signup (valid 1 year), 2 new Canva templates per week, a 60-min 1:1 strategy call, the recorded version of the monthly strategy group call (so you don't miss it), and the founding-rate price lock for life.
If you're planning to stick with ThumbnailMe™ past a couple of months, yearly almost always works out cheaper and gets you more — bonus credits, more templates, and pricing protected forever.
What are "founding spots"?
Founding spots are a limited number of seats at the introductory pricing — currently 100 founding Premium and 50 founding VIP seats. As long as you keep an active subscription, your founding rate is locked in for life. Once the spots are filled, future members pay the standard rate.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes — you're always in control. We think you'll want to stay once you see what ThumbnailMe™ and the Viral Thumbnails community do for your thumbnails, covers and designs. If you joined on the website (including the 7-day $7 starter), open your profile menu and choose Manage Subscription to manage or cancel your renewal in Stripe's secure billing portal. If you joined through the Viral Thumbnails community on Skool, you can manage it there. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
Do you offer refunds?
Subscription fees are generally non-refundable, except where required by law. We don't refund partial billing periods or unused credits. If you think there's a special case, email [email protected].
Credits & Usage
How do credits work?
Credits are how you use ThumbnailMe™'s AI features. As a baseline, 1 thumbnail = 3 credits. Different features cost different amounts of credits, and you can see the exact cost of any action right next to the button inside the app before you click. Your monthly allowance refills every 30 days; bonus credits are extra batches with their own 1-year expiration.
What happens if I run out of credits?
Your monthly credits refresh on your next cycle. If you need more before then, you can upgrade to a higher plan, switch to yearly (which adds a bonus credit batch), or wait for the next refresh.
Do unused monthly credits roll over?
No — monthly credits don't roll over to the next billing period. Bonus credits are different: they're separate batches with their own 1-year expiration, so they stick around longer.
What are bonus credits and how do they expire?
Bonus credits are extra credits added on top of your monthly allowance — typically when you start a yearly plan, win a community reward, or receive a manual gift from us. Each bonus batch has its own 1-year expiration starting from the date it was granted. When you spend credits, your monthly allowance is consumed first, then bonus batches (oldest-expiring first).
What happens to my bonus credits if I downgrade?
If you downgrade between paid plans (VIP → Premium), your bonus credits stay active. If you downgrade all the way to Standard, your bonus credits aren't deleted — they're frozen in place. The moment you re-upgrade to a paid plan, they unfreeze automatically. (Note: each batch's 1-year expiration keeps counting down even while frozen.)
Features
What's the difference between Clone and Generate?
Clone takes a reference thumbnail you provide and recreates it in your style — with your face, your expression, your text. Generate builds a thumbnail from scratch from your prompt, optionally bringing in your face photo and expressions. Clone is for “make me one like that one.” Generate is for “I have an idea, give me options.”
Can I upload my own face?
Yes — that's the core of how ThumbnailMe™ works. You upload a face photo once, save it as your face avatar, and reuse it across thumbnails. Standard and Premium include 1 face avatar; VIP supports up to 5.
What kinds of thumbnails can I make?
YouTube long-form, YouTube Shorts, Instagram, Skool community covers, ads, and banners. Each is pre-sized for the platform you're designing for, and 4K export is included on Premium and VIP.
What is "Upscale 2K / 4K / 8K"?
A Premium feature that takes any thumbnail you've generated or cloned and upscales it to higher resolution — 2K, 4K, or 8K. Useful when the platform you're publishing to expects high-res or you want a cleaner final render.
What's the AI Editor?
A Premium tool that lets you refine an existing thumbnail without regenerating it from scratch — magic prompt editing (“change the text to X”), erase by prompting, in-painting (paint over an area, type what should go there), and watermark removal. It's fast iteration on a thumbnail you already like.
Can I make faceless thumbnails?
Yes. Both Clone and Generate support faceless mode — useful for niches where the creator doesn't appear on camera or for ad creatives.
Community (Skool)
Why is ThumbnailMe™ tied to Skool?
ThumbnailMe™ is built for the Viral Thumbnails Community — the app and the community are intentionally bundled. You learn what makes thumbnails go viral inside the community (weekly breakdowns, playbook, peer feedback) and apply it inside the app. Membership is what unlocks app access.
What do I get in the community at each plan level?
Community perks scale with your plan:
- Standard (free) — community access and a free Canva template pack (3 templates). That's it for free; the deeper community programming (breakdowns, playbook, roast, leaderboard, Q&A) is a Premium/VIP perk.
- Premium — full community access, weekly thumbnail breakdowns, weekly creator playbook, Thumbnail Roast (post your work, get feedback), monthly Leaderboard (top 3 win bonus credits), monthly Q&A call. Plus a 10-template Premium Canva pack.
- VIP — everything in Premium, plus a monthly strategy group call (live) and direct feedback on your own thumbnails. Plus a 20-template VIP Canva pack.
Yearly Premium and yearly VIP add even more — see the “What's the difference between monthly and yearly?” question above for the full yearly bonus list.
Do I lose access to the app if I leave the community?
Yes — community membership and app access are linked. If you cancel or pause your community membership, your ThumbnailMe™ access is affected accordingly. See Terms 6.7 for details.
Privacy, Data & Trust
Do you train AI models on my photos?
No. We use your uploaded photos and facial images only to generate the outputs you ask for — your thumbnails, your designs, your face cloned with new expressions, etc. We do not use them to train AI models, build datasets, or for any purpose other than delivering what you requested.
Where are my photos stored?
Your face avatars and uploaded references are stored in your account so you don't have to re-upload every session. Generated thumbnails are kept in your library for the duration of your plan's retention window — see “How long are my creations kept?” below. We're a creation tool, not a long-term storage service: we recommend downloading anything you want to keep permanently to your own drive, and we provide a one-click Download all button in the Library to make that easy.
How long are my creations kept?
- Free / Standard: 30 days from creation
- Premium / VIP monthly: 90 days from creation
- Premium / VIP yearly: 12 months from creation
- Large renders (Upscale, Ultra Detail, 4K Clone, Ultra HD Generate): 7 days regardless of plan, because the file sizes add up fast
- Face avatars and Expressions: kept for as long as your account is active
The Download all button in your Library zips up everything currently in your library so you can save a local backup any time.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can delete generated content from inside the app, and you can request full account deletion by emailing [email protected]. We'll remove your personal data, uploaded images, and generated content within a reasonable timeframe.
Who can see my thumbnails?
Only you, unless you choose to share a thumbnail in the community (e.g., for the Thumbnail Roast). We don't share your content with third parties for marketing or training.
Is it OK to clone someone else's thumbnail?
The cloning tools are designed as a creative starting point — pull inspiration, then edit, customize, and design further so the final result is uniquely yours. You're responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to any image, thumbnail, or visual reference you use, and for following copyright, publicity, and platform guidelines (including YouTube's). Iterating from a clone into something distinctly yours is both the strongest creative path and the safest legal one.
